One-to-One Yoga Sessions with Alice
I spend part of each year in the Scottish Highlands and whilst there, offer private yoga sessions in my 'Serenity Shack' located on a quiet corner of a beautiful croft just ten minutes outside of Nairn.
One-to-One Yoga Sessions with Alice
Time: 1hr (ish). Slots available between 9-4pm, Mon-Sat.
Cost: £40 (or please talk to me about a donation within your means)
Location: The "Serenity Shack" is a small log room hand-built by my husband and located within a stone and tree circle on a beautiful croft. It has a beautiful view from the window and is a place that invites a sense of calm, along with connection to nature.
Our time together:
-
Chat: Within these one-to-ones, we will first talk about how you're feeling and what your needs might be that day. We always honour where our bodies and minds are at.
-
Breathwork: I will guide you through some simple breathwork techniques that can help with nurturing a deeper sense of calm and control, which can bring comfort, especially if we tend to not feel this in other areas of our life.
-
Stretch: During our first session the focus will be on a gentle seated stretch along with one or two restorative poses. Restorative yoga is where we use props (cushions/rolled blankets etc) to 'hold' us in postures. This way our body receives the benefit of poses, without discomfort.
-
Meditation: Each session ends with a 15-20 minute guided meditation** where you will be invited to lie down with an eye pillow and blanket and I will talk you through this experience, helping you reach true relaxation in mind and body.
-
Closing chant: I sing and chant Om with my harmonium to close our practice. You are always invited to join in, or simply enjoy this ancient sound!***
**If appropriate, I can also introduce Tibetan singing bowls to aid with relaxation. There are some contraindications with the use of sound bowls, which I can run by you if you decide to proceed, to see if they will be a good fit for you.
***I'm always happy to switch things up and include Sanskrit chanting as part of our longer meditation.
The class outlined above will offer you a gentle restorative hour, introducing you to the benefits of yoga for your body, mind, and spirit. The focus is always on (re)connecting with self in order to discover opportunities for healing, both physically and emotionally. If you decide to join me for regular sessions, we can of course adapt the practice to suit your needs.
If this sounds of interest let me know by reply and I'll be in touch! If you could also indicate if you're potentially interested in a one-off, monthly, or weekly session.
You will find a selection of free classes and meditations on my YouTube channel, which you are welcome to take a look at. This should give you a good sense of me and my style and if you think I'll be a good fit for you. You might even start with my Five Days: Ten Minutes a Day Gentle Yoga Challenge!
I hope to connect with you soon and if you have any questions at all, please feel free to get in touch.
With love,
Alice

Kind words from my students:
"Just a blissful yoga practice followed by the lovely chanting. It was such a beautiful exercise. Please can we have more. I loved joining in with the chanting. Thank you so much.” -Sarah
"I just wanted to let you know how amazing I found your yin class. My intention this morning was about staying calm and after the session I definitely felt like a weight had been lifted and have been able to keep the ‘calm’ within me for the rest of the day too. It also has made me feel so much more positive and reenergised. I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed it and to thank you personally." -Liz
"I wanted to email and thank you for holding such wonderful practices. I've really enjoyed each one, they've helped me grow in confidence, helping me regulate by having that essential time for me and it's just been so much fun practicing with all of you. I've never been brave enough to go to a class, so it's a big deal." -Katie
"Alice has such a calm vibe - her online classes are soothing and make you feel nourished and relaxed. Her experience in yoga and her holistic nature-fuelled ethos will help you feel like a new person." -Sarah
"After so many years of thinking yoga wasn't for me, I've found my love for it so thanks Alice, that's all down to you and your teaching and encouragements. Recently my neighbour said 'you look different Claire, as if you're glowing' and I told him—it's yoga!" -Claire
"I wish to tell you how much I am enjoying these classes and hope you will be able to continue as long as possible. A friend sent me the following quote many years ago which makes me think of our unconscious impact on others: Albert Schweitzer wrote ‘one thing stirs within me when I look back on my life; it is the fact that so many people meant so much to me without knowing it. They entered into my life and became a spiritual power within me. If we have them before us who have been a blessing to us, they would be amazed to learn what passed from their lives to ours.’ I feel this way about your sessions. Thank you. " -Eileen
"I do your Zoom class and much prefer it to the live class I do locally. You're so engaging and warm and you care so much about us. I truly feel that even through a screen. Your students are so lucky to have the opportunity to practice with you in person" -Amanda
"I've loved these four weeks. Thank you for making the classes so thoughtful. You can really feel the time and consideration you put into the sessions. Looking forward to my next block of indulgent Mondays!" -Catherine
